Our sweet Jordan boy has had a very eventful week. Last Thursday he learned to dive...but not into a swimming pool. He climbed onto a chair in our dining room and then dove off (head first) onto the tile. It's quite amazing to watch a goose egg form so quickly. Wow that was scary!!! A few days later (by this time the goose egg was just a huge, green bruise) he picked a fight with the sidewalk and the sidewalk won. Road rash instantly appeared on his head, nose and cheek! OUCH! As if that wasn't enough, he also developed a really icky cough and a goopy green runny nose. So, although he turned 18 months on Sunday, his first day in nursery will have to wait. The GOOD NEWS is...Today we took him to the doctor for his 18 month check up. He is 32 inches long (50th percentile) and weighs 23.6 pounds (also 50th percentile.) I don't remember his head circumference (it is definitely not in the 50th percentile, more like the 105th.) He may not look good, but at least his stats do!

All banged up and everything, he is still one seriously cute kid. :)
People without kids of their own would turn you into protective services! :) We know what it's like to have a kid who's a little "scuffed". Thank goodness they heal quickly. Love you!
omg that is almost what ever looked like when george droped him out of a shopping cart when he was 18 mo. old. the only differance is ever now has a dent in his forhead. too cute
poor little guy!! hopefully the doctor believed you about what really happened!!! just jokes. we also had our 18 month checkup this week...fun times that our kiddos are the same age. hope you guys are doing well!
OUCH!!!! Ben, my son did the same thing when he was about that old. It's totally a boy thing. We go through a lot of baby advil at our house. I hope he feels better. Vicki O'Brien
poor baby!
What have you been doing to our grandson? Looks like we should have extended our trip to protect him! Just kidding. We've seen you in action, and you're great parents.
That's so sad. Everytime something happens to one of our little ones we always ask ourselves "What would we tell the ER doctor about this? Would they believe us?" Especially all the random bruises on their backs. I swear we don't beat our children...but sometimes I wonder what's going on? That goose egg is just about the sadest thing I've ever seen! You're daughter is so beautiful. I love how big her eyes are!
Poor kid! He still looks as cute as ever even with all the bumps and bruises. I love the spikes in his hair.
Hi, Jo! I stumbled across your website on accident through Carolee's and I just had to tell you that you have such a beautiful family! Your little boy is so cute and those bumps and scrapes all look so familiar! When you have a spare moment, please check out our blog at twoandthreebees.blogspot.com...I'm sure Alan would love to say hello to Justin as well!
Owch, I remember seeing Jordan the Sunday after that. We had a fun time, but he looked kind of pained.
Hey Jo! Yes, this looks all too familiar. All children between the ages 1-2 years look like they've been threw a war zone. They are just learning how to walk, then run, then jump...but haven't learned to put their hands and arms out to catch their falls. He'll learn soon enough. It's so nice to see your sweet family!
Love,
Sharon
