Washington DC

We went to DC for spring break. Our trip was spontaneous and quick, a whirlwind of history. We practically ran from place to place. We are so glad we went, we loved it! Thanks so much Mari and Josh for letting us crash at your house!!!

My favorite part of the trip was our picnic lunch right next to the Iwo Jima Memorial. I've seen hundreds of pictures of the statue, but I had no idea how enormous it is! Loved it!

We also loved the Arlington Cemetery. We got to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. "Tapps" was played on the trumpet, I've never heard such beautiful trumpet playing!

The Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials were both huge and very awesome. They must have been incredable guys!

Everywhere we went we could see the Washington Monument. So cool!

Pictures of the DC Temple don't do it justice. It is gorgeous!

Can't wait til we can make it out there. Some of our good friends are moving to Pittsburg this summer, so we have even more reasons to head to the East coast. Glad you had a good trip. Love ya!

Wuou!!! you really enjoy to visit the capital of your country...every time when we go to Santiago City (capital of my country) I can´t wait to go home as soon as we can...hahahaha... We also have a lot of monuments and stuff like that but the smoke in there makes almost impossible been there for 24 hours!!! the only good thing about Santiago City is our loved Temple.

The DC Temple was our apartment view for the better part of a year. You are right...pics do NOT do it justice. I have tried for years to explain how it "rises" when you come around the DC Beltway but no one understands unless they have seen it for themselves. It is just as gorgeous inside.
Looks like you had a great time!
